Η Κοσμητεία της Φιλοσοφικής Σχολής σας προσκαλεί στη διάλεξη του John Kittmer, απελθών πρέσβης της Μεγάλης Βρετανίας στην ΑθήναJohn Kittmer is a career diplomat and civil servant, currently on a career break to complete his PhD at King’s College London, where he is researching on Yannis Ritsos. John’s most recent postings were as Director of Overseas Territories, Foreign and Commonwealth Office London (2016-17) and British Ambassador to Greece (2013-16). In addition to the Foreign Office, he has worked in the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs; the Cabinet Office; and the Department for Education and Employment. John completed a BA degree in Classics at the University of Cambridge; undertook postgraduate research in Greek tragedy and comedy at the University of Oxford; and achieved an MA in Modern Greek at King’s College London. He has published articles on Greek literature (ancient and modern) and writes a monthly blog in Greek called ‘Ανταποκρίσεις: Λονδίνο / Αθήνα’ at www.in.gr. From June 2018, John will be the Chairman of the Anglo-Hellenic League.
